Managed OpenShift
Containers, without running the platform.
OpenShift builds on Kubernetes and comes with a container registry, monitoring, log aggregation and CI/CD tools. We set up the platform, keep it current, monitor it and resolve faults — you work with your applications on it.
What OpenShift is built for
Kubernetes is the open standard for container orchestration — and a construction kit. Anyone who wants to use it in production assembles registry, monitoring, log collection, rights management and build pipelines themselves, and then has to keep them working together themselves too.
OpenShift takes that decision off your hands: the parts are there, matched to one another and updated together. On top of that come stricter defaults — containers do not run as root by default, network rules and roles are set from the start. That is why OpenShift turns up where security requirements are audited.
What we do: we run the platform. Setup, updates, monitoring and fault resolution are ours; your applications and pipelines are yours. OpenShift requires a subscription from Red Hat. You can hold it yourself, or we provide it — which is cheaper depends on the number of nodes and on what you already have with Red Hat. We calculate both before we make an offer.
- Container registry, monitoring and log aggregation out of the box
- CI/CD and DevOps pipelines integrated
- Your own cluster, for you alone
- Setup, updates and monitoring by us
- Data centres in Hanover and Wolfsburg, Frankfurt planned
- ISO 27001 based on BSI IT-Grundschutz
Integrated container registry
Use a central repository for storing, organising, controlling access to and managing your container images, and for their automated deployment process.
Monitoring
OpenShift offers various integrations and APIs for comprehensive monitoring at cluster, application and infrastructure level, to make sure all components work.
Log aggregation
Have your log data analysed and monitored in line with the specific security and compliance requirements of your environment.
CI/CD & DevOps workflows and pipelines
Build and rollout pipelines are part of the platform instead of standing next to it: source code becomes an image, the image goes into the registry, the registry supplies the cluster.
Application services
OpenShift offers a wide range of application services that help speed up development and deployment processes, improve reliability and keep applications scalable.
Enterprise support
Our specialised team is there to ensure smooth deployment, ongoing maintenance and stable performance of your Managed OpenShift infrastructure.

Frequently asked questions about Managed OpenShift
What is the difference between OpenShift and Kubernetes?
OpenShift builds on Kubernetes and brings what you would have to assemble yourself with Kubernetes: an integrated container registry, monitoring, log aggregation, tools for CI/CD pipelines and stricter defaults for permissions and roles. Kubernetes gives you more freedom to shape things, OpenShift takes more work off your hands.
Who is Managed OpenShift suited to?
Teams that develop container-based applications and have to meet strict security and compliance requirements. The platform is set up secure by default and has extensive role management.
What does kyberio take on?
We look after the platform infrastructure completely: provisioning, maintenance, updates and monitoring. You work with your applications, the pipelines and the services on it.
Who needs the Red Hat subscription?
It has to be there — OpenShift does not run without it. You can hold it yourself, or we provide it. Which route is cheaper depends on the number of nodes and on what you already have with Red Hat; we calculate both. So the difference from GitLab and odoo, where the licence lies with the customer, is not a different stance but a calculation.
What does Managed OpenShift cost?
We do not give a list price for it. The configuration depends on how many nodes you need and how they are specified. Write to us about what you are planning — and you will get a figure instead of a range.
Do I get my own cluster or do I share it?
Your own. We do not offer shared clusters on which several customers run side by side — what runs for you runs only for you. How large the cluster becomes depends on your applications.
Does OpenShift run in Germany at kyberio?
Yes. The platform runs in our data centres in Hanover and Wolfsburg; a site in Frankfurt is planned. Both are certified to ISO 27001 based on BSI IT-Grundschutz (BSI-IGZ-0552-2023). kyberio is subject to German law and not to the CLOUD Act.
What response times do you commit to?
We monitor around the clock, every day of the year. How quickly we intervene and through which escalation stages is set out in your contract — a time we have not committed to is not a time we state here.
